Finding it difficult to pay your fuel bills?Feeling the effects of a cold or damp home?
Help you claim grants that could help make your home warmer.
Inform you about schemes which provide better value gas and electricity for older people.
Fuel poverty can affect everyone, however amongst older people it is a particular cause for concern. It can result in ill health and even death simply because people cannot afford to heat their homes adequately. This may be due to escalating fuel prices, poor insulation or inefficient heating systems.
At Age UK Sunderland we have a Warm Front Grant Co-ordinator on hand to explain your eligibility for warm front, the Government scheme available to help tackle fuel poverty. You may also be offered advice if you experience any difficulties with your application or are concerned with waiting times.
The Co-ordinator will also be able to advise you on local cavity wall and loft insulation schemes and what charges if any, you may be expected to pay.
If you would like more information about energy efficiency and what grants are available please contact Maureen Fildes, our Warm Front Grant Co-ordinator using the contact details below.
Checking your entitlement today could make all the difference tomorrow.
