Day clubs & day services
We currently have 50 day clubs that run Monday to Friday in the Sunderland, Penshaw, Houghton, Hetton and Washington areas that are used by around 800 people.
If you are feeling lonely or just bored then come along and join one of our many day clubs in the city.
The clubs are open from 10am to 2pm and our highly experienced, friendly drivers can provide transport to and from your door. While at the day club a freshly cooked two course meal is provided and you can play bingo, card games and dominoes for your enjoyment.

Redwood Grove
Redwood Grove opened in October 2005 and the activity club now can now host up to 20 people per day. It offers relaxed surroundings combined with a high standard of care provided by experienced staff.
Thoughout the day we offer various activities including bingo, raffles, card games, quizzes and crafts.
Redwood Grove also boasts a large garden, perfect during summer months for relaxing in the sun. Redwood is different to our usual day clubs as we provide full day-time care using experienced carers. The centre has been decorated to reflect an environment that people find not only welcoming, but also friendly and homely.
The Mews
The Mews opened in 2008 and now provides day care for people in the Houghton, Hetton and Washington areas. We have two mini buses - one providing transport for the Houghton and Hetton area and the other one provides transport for Washington.
The centre is open Monday to Friday and provides lunch and activities. The day centre is based in the Mews Nursing Home, which belongs to the Four Seasons Health Care. All referrals are made via social services.
