If you are over 50, our GO50 programme can introduce you to a healthier lifestyle and the benefits of regular exercise. Join in with cycling, Nordic Walking or any of a range of activities.
Find out about community groups for older people in Woking, including the New Horizons group, Maybury Estate Coffee Club.
Traditional men’s leisure activities are difficultto accommodate in a day centre; what’s reallyneeded is a shed, some tools, a bit of chatand some planning. And that is what Age UKSurrey is doing in Ash where the ‘Men in Sheds’project is in the planning process.
Typical activities will include carpentry, metal work, and furniture restoration, as well as practical ideaslike bicycle and house maintenance – and any surpluscould be sold to produce further funds for the shed.
The original idea came from Australia and is beingpiloted by several Age UKs at present. Even suggestions mightalso include finding out about health, music, cooking or justcreating space to chat over coffee
Please contact John Fairsor phone 01252 331352 to know more.
