Becoming a trustee

Being a trustee of Age UK Sutton can be a fulfilling experience, and one that offers a great deal of life experience.

Trustees contribute to the collective Board responsibility to ensure clear purpose, leadership and strategy, and to ensure the charity is performing well, is solvent and fulfils all its duties and obligations. Trustees focus on the strategic direction of the organisation, and not on the day to day operations. There must be a clear delineation between strategic and operational roles. There is an additional responsibility to ensure the effective deployment of staff and volunteers, to promote the organisation and maintain the effectiveness of the Board.

If you'd like to learn more about the requirements and responsibilities involved in being a trustee, theTrustees Unlimited website provides information on becoming a trustee, in addition to providing current trustee opportunities.
