About Age UK Tower Hamlets

Who are we?

Age UK Tower Hamlets is a registered charity which has worked with older people in Tower Hamlets since 1984. Until recently we were known as Age Concern Tower Hamlets.

We are a registered charity (no.1053533) and a company limited by guarantee (no.3157634).

What do we do?

• We run a range of services which local people tell us they need.
• We make sure that Older People have their voice heard by local decision makers.
• We enable older people in Tower Hamlets to get the opportunities they need, when they want them and where they want them.

How do we do this?

• We have paid staff and volunteers from across the community who work with us.
• We research and find out what other people are doing across London and the rest of the UK.
• We ask Older People what they want and how they want things done.

At an Older People’s Reference Group, meeting every 6 weeks

We never cold call - we always make appointments. Our staff and volunteers all have ID Badges. From a security point of view please note that if you have arranged for a person to visit you make a note of their name so that you can ask for them individually when you call, and so you know who to expect and therefore do not allow any unauthorised person to enter your premises.
