Involving Older People
The Involving Older People project aims to support older people to have more of a say in the planning and delivery of health and social care services they use in the borough of Tower Hamlets.
The project works with the NHS and the Local Council to help them improve their services by listening and learning from the experiences of older people and their carers.
We will be looking for people to get involved in:-
-
Being interviewed/taking part in consultations and research
-
Taking part in small discussion groups/events/activities
-
Attending the Older People's Reference Group meetings which take place every 6-weeks (refreshments provided)
We want to involve older people who use the health services or any council service, as well as older people who are carers, and those who are active in the community.
The Involving Older People project will help with :-
-
Interpreting and translation if you need it
-
Transport and paying your expenses
-
Explaining planning and policy so that you can say what you think.
We particularly want to reach those people who have never talked about their experiences of health and social services before including:-
-
Older people who need assistance to get out of their home
-
Older people whose first language is not English, we have a BME (Black Minority Ethnic) Community Development Worker
