Age UK Walsall is an independent charity, registered in November 1996, aiming to support all elderly people aged 50 years plus across the Walsall borough by providing relevant services, information and advice, and advocacy.
In April 2009, the national charities of Age Concern England and Help the Aged merged to become a single organisation – launching their new brand and logo on 19 April 2010 with a series of television and newspaper advertising campaigns.
Age Concern Walsall officially became Age UK Walsall in September 2010 and, although we remain completely independent from the national organisation we are proud to be affiliated to Age UK.

To improve the quality of life for older people in Walsall by actively working to promote choice, independence, inclusion and dignity whilst helping to overcome isolation, exclusion and discrimination.
Age UK Walsall is an independent, local charity and a company limited by guarantee. The charity has been supporting older people across the borough in one form or another since the 1920’s. We were originally known as Walsall Guild for Voluntary Services, registering as Age Concern Walsall in November 1996. In September 2010, the charity officially adopted the new name and logo and are now proudly known as Age UK Walsall. The adoption of the new name and brand does not change the fact that we remain an independent charity in our own right – affiliated to the national body via the West Midlands Federation. Our vision, aims and principles remain the same.
