Lunch and social clubs
Giving much needed social and activity services to those in rural areas.
The rural outreach project is currently setting up clubs offering cultural and social opportunities for older people across South Warwickshire. These clubs will be developed in areas that have been identified as lacking in facilities for older people.
By building on existing networks and clubs, our aim is to develop new groups in local venues with the support of volunteers and members. This will offer the important opportunity for members to meet friends and other older people by engaging in activities they have in common.
Another aim of the project is to encourage people in their communities to support one another and develop clubs that meet the needs of older people. Groups will also be encouraged to link into Stratford District Citizen Action Network and Warwick District Older People’s Forum, enabling them to have their voice heard in planning and decision making processes.

However, there is still always a need for volunteer helpers – so if you can gratefully give any time, however small, please do get in touch. Volunteers are crucial to the running of clubs, by giving talks, demonstrations and simply by sharing their skills. It would be great if you could get involved with this new and exciting venture with us.
The project works in partnership with Warwickshire County Council, Stratford and Warwick District Councils, South Warwickshire PIE SRB and the Opportunities for Volunteering Scheme, who jointly fund this project.
