The group meets at:

Community at 67 (The Old Post Office), Queens Rd, Keynsham

1st Tuesday of every month, 2-4pm.

Activities are free, though a small donation to the raffle table is much appreciated.

 

 

June 4: A Visit to Sydney Gardens, Bath - a beautiful green park behind the Holburne Museum, one of Britain’s last remaining Georgian Pleasure Gardens
On this trip to Sydney Gardens, you will hear about the colourful history of the Pleasure Gardens in the past from swings to fireworks and watch the trains and canal boats passing through. You’ll also learn a bit about the Sydney Gardens Heritage Funded Project and the restoring plan for the park over the next 3 years…. And do a maze puzzle over a cup of tea!
Book in for free travel (on the telephone number below) to Bath by minibus leaving from Community at 67 at 2pm and returning to Keynsham for approximately 4pm.

July 2: Talk by Avon Wildlife Trust on ‘The Work of Avon Wildlife Trust’
The speaker will give an insight into the Trust's work in education and conservation - in particular, the Folly Farm Centre, which is situated in the heart of their 250-acre nature reserve in the Chew Valley.

August 6: Bath Preservation Trust Talk about Beckford Tower
Hear about William Beckford’s extraordinary life and his unique Tower in Bath. He was once the richest man in England but lost his fortune and almost his reputation too. Learn about his writing, collections of beautiful art and objects and his madcap buildings - one of which quickly collapsed!
