The aim of Walking Football is both to draw once-active people back to their sporting roots and also to engage those who want to gradually improve their fitness in a social environment.

Anyone interested can turn up on the day, ensuring that they are wearing sensible clothing for exercise, and football boots if they have them, although there are some boots available to borrow in various sizes.

Testimonials from some of our regulars...

"After having been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and having two major ops, I didn't think it would be possible to do any exercise. I feel the Walking Football has had a tremendous effect on me, and my personal outlook has changed since taking up sport again. Would definitely recommend to other people." - Harry

"It's great fun and helps me to keep fit." - Robin

"My problems were and still are varied and plentiful. I could tell you a story from how my life was desperate: homelessness; prison; a vile existence. The football has been the main reason, THE reason, I've turned my life around." - Graham

"I have never played, nor been interested in football before. I was introduced to Walking Football by my brother-in-law. I think it's a brilliant activity to keep fit. It's been good meeting a good group of people as well." John
