Day Centre

Do you enjoy being part of a team and have a genuine interest and concern for older people?

We are looking for volunteers to assist staff in one of our  two Day Centres which cater for frail, housebound older people in Sidcup and Slade Green .

You will establish, maintain and develop relationships with clients in the Day Centre.

Digital Support Volunteer

Are you IT literate and able to use a variety of IT equipment- desktop, laptop, IPad, tablet, etc?

Are you free Wednesdays between 10.30am -12.00pm?

We are looking for volunteers who can provide IT support on a one to one basis for people over the age of 50 in Bexley, based at our Northumberland Heath Wellbeing Centre.

Handyperson

We are looking for volunteers to support and work with older people who are no longer able to do the little jobs around the house. This could be as simple as changing light bulbs or perhaps helping to build flat-pack furniture.

You will be part of a very popular service which makes a major contribution to the quality of life for older people by ensuring that their homes are safe.

Information and Advice

Do you enjoy talking to people and dealing with a wide variety of issues affecting older people?

Men In Sheds

The Men In sheds project is for men over 60, sharing and learning skills in a fully kitted out workshop and working on either personal projects or commissions for local organisations.

Do you have a basic knowledge and interest in woodwork and DIY?

We are looking for a volunteer to  assist in the running of the workshop and to support members in the absence of the the Men In Sheds co-ordinator.

Wellbeing Centre

Age UK Bexley has 4 Wellbeing centres which are open to members of the public  aged  55 and over.

We are looking for enthusiastic, outgoing and organised volunteers who are willing to organise or assist in the running of regular activities or help prepare light refreshments in our Wellbeing centres.
