We are only able to provide the services we do at Age UK Bexley because we have a large, committed workforce of volunteers. Volunteering with us is fun, challenging and exciting. You make friends, develop new skills and help a lot of older people.

Volunteers work in almost all our services so we can offer the opportunity to assist in a variety of ways and ensuring a wide range of skills and knowledge.

We meet all our volunteers to discuss what they want from volunteering so they get the most out of their donation of time and energy. The time you give can vary but we do ask you to commit to a minimum of 1-2 hours a week. Our volunteering hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, unfortunately we cannot accommodate requests for weekends and evenings.

Volunteer roles include:

  • Community Support – including Befriending
  • Day Centre
  • Dementia Support
  • Digital Support
  • Handyperson
  • Information and Advice
  • Men in Sheds Support
  • Wellbeing Centre
