A friendly voice on the end of the phone can help brighten up your week. Volunteer befrienders call each week at a day and time arranged between you. Calls can be a quick check in on how you’re doing, or a lengthy chat about everything under the sun! You and the volunteer decide between you what will suit you best.

Your telephone befriending will have a ten-week trial period so that you can decide whether it is the service for you, and then you can continue calls for as long as you want or need.

If you would prefer not to have weekly calls but would like to be able to call and chat on your own timetable, we can connect you to Silver Line, the 24/7 helpline for older people.

For more info, or to sign up for telephone befriending, call 0121 437 0033 and press option 3.
