Campaigns
Part of Age UK Blackburn with Darwen’s mission is to support local older people to have their views heard and needs taken into account. We do this through a range of campaigning and influencing activities.
We spend much time working with other local organisations aiming to improve service provision and influencing decision making and service planning.

Influencing local policy
As well as campaigning on specific issues we also spend much of our time influencing local policy, practice, service planning, commissioning and delivery.
We are members of a wide range of partnerships, forums and networks, including the Health & Wellbeing Board and Adult Safeguarding Board in Blackburn with Darwen; and the Place Based Partnership Board, where we aim to ensure older people's needs and views are always taken into account.

Support in the community
Age Well Partnership
We co-ordinate the local Age Well Partnership,the local strategic group responsible for ensuring that older people's needs and views are represented at the highest local level.
The partnership is responsible for implementing the 'Age Well' section of the Health & Wellbeing Strategy and the Positive Ageing Framework.
Current key priorities for the Age Well partnership are dementia, falls and frailty along with the implementation of the Positive Ageing Framework
