Just a few hours of your time can make a huge difference to an older person’s life in Blackburn with Darwen.
We could not provide many of our services effectively without the support of volunteers. We can offer you a rewarding volunteer experience, the opportunity to meet others and to be part of a team.
All volunteers are given full training, out of pocket expenses and support from our staff. We have a straight forward recruitment and training process which can take up to 8 weeks depending on the role you have volunteered for.
We are currently recruiting for:
Darwen Charity Shop: We need volunteers to operate the till, serve on the shop floor and also process donations for sale.
Shop Collections Driver: We need a volunteer to collect donations from the general public and transport to the shop. Applicants must have a full clean driving license and be aged 25 or over.
Stepping Stones/Dementia Buddies: Could you volunteer to support an older person with dementia to maintain their independence or support someone short term who has recently had a life crisis such as bereavement or a long hospital stay or a move.
