Role Description

The role will be based at our offices in the town centre of Bolton. We are looking for a volunteer receptionist to cover the main desk in the reception area and the role will involve:

  • greeting people as they arrive in the ‘shop’
  • dealing with face to face enquiries
  • signposting to the relevant area
  • answering the telephone
  • dealing with enquiries and transferring calls
  • using the reception Information Folder to find and pass on relevant telephone numbers and information
  • Making drinks for customers waiting for their appointments
  • Making sure the leaflet stands are replenished regularly
  • Keeping the ‘brew station’ clean and tidy for customers

Skills and Qualifications

Previous experience in administration/clerical work would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided. We are looking for volunteers who are friendly and welcoming, punctual, organised, enthusiastic, and sensitive to the needs of older people.

Time requirements

We are looking for someone to fill our Wednesday afternoon on reception - 1pm - 4.30pm
