Age UK Bolton has been supporting local older people since 1947 and are stepping up during this crisis. The Age UK Bolton team are helping older people by providing 4 key services during this time:
Regular Welfare calls
We have volunteers and staff members making regular wellbeing telephone calls to local older people*.
This could include:
- A simple catch-up to check on general welfare
- A friendly chat to ease worries or the loneliness of isolation
- Help to access essential supplies
- Providing general information and reassurance
- Signposting you to practical support in the area

Emergency Essential Shops
Age UK Bolton volunteers and staff are supporting vulnerable older people* with emergency shopping during social distancing and are struggling to get the essentials.

*Please note priority will be given to those who have no other means of support
Home from Hospital
Our Home from Hospital team are supporting those 65 or over who live alone or are a main carer and have recently been discharged from hospital, both practically and emotionally.

Unfortunately, due to Coronavirus we are unable to hire wheelchairs at the moment due to the nature of the virus. We will be updating this page when this changes.

In these challenging times, lots of people have been asking us how they can support older people who are staying at home.
