Brighton based financial services company, OneFamily has donated an incredible £20,000 to Age UK Brighton & Hove to help fund the charity’s Information and Advice service.
The Information and Advice service helps older people with queries on all aspects of later life including offering welfare benefits checks for those who are in poverty and worried about paying their bills or staying warm in winter. The service can also offer advice on issues like independent living, accessing social care and tackling loneliness and isolation.
The donation from OneFamily is through its Foundation, which aims to support good causes its customers care about. It will help the Age UK Information & Advice service get out into the community as it targets people in areas of high deprivation and loneliness. Plans are also underway to set up an Information & Advice service In the BSUH A&E unit, to help older people who may need support, but not necessarily emergency clinical care.
Simon Dowe, Interim Chief Executive at Age UK Brighton & Hove said “This donation from OneFamily will make a huge difference to some of the most vulnerable older people in our City. I’d like to say a massive thank you to the OneFamily team for their support. Contributions like this enable us to be there for older people, whatever it is they are facing.”
Age UK Brighton & Hove is dedicated to helping people in our city make the most of later life. Providing information, advice and services, we are there for older people who need help or support.
