Bromsgrove Men In 'a Canal Boat'

Published on 04 October 2018 08:56 PM

Bromsgrove Men In Sheds have been treated to a relaxing canal boat trip on the Worcester and Birmingham canal courtesy of Bromsgrove Lions Club.

The Club arranged two trips for the Shedders travelling from Anglo Welsh’s base at Tardebigge Wharf to Alvechurch Marina and back, as well as providing the group with a fantastic ploughman's lunch!  They even managed to arrange some fantastic weather!

Speaking after the trip, Shedder Ed Carswell said,

“On behalf of all the Shedders I would like to thank the Bromsgrove Lions Club for arranging the trip.  They made it a relaxed and friendly atmosphere resulting in a very memorable experience.  The Shedders have all fed back on how much they enjoyed the day and that was down to all the work that was put into it by the Lions.”

Bromsgrove Lions Club had already shown their support to Bromsgrove Men In Sheds a few months ago with a generous donation of £300 in support of the Shed Share sponsorship scheme, and the Shedders are currently working on a joint community project with the Lions to help refurbish the benches in the Pat Chippendale Memorial Garden at the Princess of Wales Community Hospital.

Speaking on behalf of the Lions Club, Lesley Godwin said,

"It was a pleasure to take out such an enthusiastic group of people and we are extremely pleased they enjoyed themselves so much. We look forward to working with them again in the future."
