Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest is inviting members of the local community to come along to the Tulip Tree Centre (Castle Lane, Kidderminster) on Monday 1st October 2018 (10am – 12pm) to help celebrate Older People’s Day!
The charity is bringing together a number of local partners and organisations (including HWFRS, Act on Energy, Health Watch, Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire, Reaching Out Wyre Forest, Triangle Day Care, Care UK Brook Court, Reaching Out Wyre Forest plus the Kidderminster and Wolverley & Cookley Dementia Action Alliance groups) to help raise awareness of support and services that are available to older people.
Speaking about the event Sam Humphray, Interim CEO of Age UK BRWF said;
"Older People's Day is something that is celebrated annually, across the world, on the 1st October to recognise the contributions of older people to their communities and to help raise awareness of the issues that affect their lives. As an organisation we have recently initiated a programme of ‘Listening Events’ to help improve our engagement with the Wyre Forest community. We want to better understand the priorities of local people, to help better shape local support and services, so I would like to encourage people to come along and talk to us on the 1st, so that we can help create communities in which we all want to grow older.”
As part of the event, the charity is also offering free Electric Blanket Testing (pre-booked appointments only). For more information about the event (and to book an Electric Blanket Testing Appointment), please call Age UK BRWF on 01527 570490.
