Annual General Meeting

Age UK Bury held its Annual General Meeting on Monday 21st January 2019.

The Chair, Mrs Joan Rees, the Treasurer, Mr Rodger Owen and the Chief    Officer, Mr Andrew Hazeldine spoke about the achievements of the charity over the last year, which included providing over 1,500 social activities at the Jubilee Centre; responding to over 2,500 requests for information and helping local older people claim over £1.3 million in benefits and entitlements.

The Mayor of Bury, Cllr Jane Black chaired the meeting and presented long service awards to eight volunteers who, between them, had supported the charity for total of 80 years.

More awards will be going out to those who could not attend the meeting and they are Ann Cowie (5 years). Pauline Mulveil (5 years) and Mavis Moran (20 years).
