Age UK Calderdale and Kirklees is a local charity, affiliated to the national charity Age UK, which came about through the merger of Age Concern and Help the Aged. We are responsible for choosing and funding all of the services we provide locally.
We help older people by providing practical, reliable services, letting you live the independent life you want and giving your family the peace of mind, knowing that you are being well looked after.
We exist to promote the wellbeing of all older people in Calderdale & Kirklees, recognising their right to independence, fulfilment, dignity and choice, working with them, and their carers, to help make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience. We will be inclusive and embrace equality and diversity.
We will be the centre of excellence providing access to services that meet the needs of older people.

Our Chief Executive is Lisa Butland and we employ approximately 140 staff, most on a part-time basis. We have a Board of Trustees chaired by Lis Boulton, who oversee all the work that we do and a further 100+ volunteers who all generously give their time to make a positive difference to the lives of local older people.
Our headquarters are located in Halifax in the Woolshops. In Huddersfield we have a branch in the town centre on New Street as well as a dedicated day centre at Sundale House. We also provide day services at other centres in Calderdale and Kirklees.
