Published on 16 August 2022 10:30 AM

Michael Bond, long standing trustee and former Chair of Board of Trustees at Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, dies aged 80years.

Melanie Wicklen, Chief Executive, Announcement:

"It is with great sadness we share the passing of Michael Bond in July 2022.  Michael had been a Trustee, including a period as Chair of Trustees, for the organisation since 1994 seeing many changes in those 28 years, originally being a Board member for Age Concern Cambridgeshire, before the transition to Age UK Cambridgeshire in April 2011.  Then in April 2016 Age UK Cambridgeshire merged with Age UK Peterborough to become Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.  Michael was instrumental in the formation of Age Concern Regional Support in the East, which oversaw projects such as Fit as a Fiddle, providing the tools and encouragement for older people to live healthy active lives.

Michael had a commitment to supporting the rights of older people.  He was an intelligent and kind man and will be sadly missed by all who knew him."
