We are delighted to share another lunchtime recital with you! This week we are joined by Sarah and Sam. Find out more about their impressive careers in the bios below.

Our performers:

Sarah Douglas

Sarah grew up in Greater Manchester and was a student at Chetham’s School of Music. She went on to study at the Royal College of Music where she won the Henri Selmer Paris Clarinet Prize and the Stephen Trier Bass Clarinet Award. Her orchestral work includes projects with The London Concert Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Swan, Brandenburg Sinfonia, KZN Philharmonic (South Africa), Opera de Baugé (France) and as a session musician for Brit Award winner Duffy, Steve Harley and Pink Floyd Symphonic Live. She has performed recitals for Buxton Opera House Arts, Georgian Theatre Royal, Royal Academy of Arts and for Cunard on the Queen Victoria and Queen Mary. Sarah is a visiting music teacher at Tiffin School, St Paul’s School and Hereward House School. She has taken part in outreach projects with the LPO, London Sinfonietta, English Chamber Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Live Music Now and NCS ‘The Challenge’. She coaches woodwind for the Thames Youth Orchestra and National Orchestra for All.

Sam Ewens

Sam grew up and still lives in South East London and eventually studied at the Royal College of Music. Since graduating, he has played with many orchestras and toured with artists such as Alfie Boe and Russell Watson. He has also performed with various soul, pop & rock artists such as Clean Bandit (on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge), Myles Sanko and Deep Purple and has recorded trumpet on the scores for many TV shows such as Michael McIntyre’s Big Show (BBC1), First Dates (Ch4) and Location Location Location (Ch4).
