A gift in your will could give people in later life someone to turn to in years to come.
When we make our wills, we naturally want to make sure our loved ones are cared for. But through your will you can also leave something special to the many thousands of older people in the UK who have no one to turn to when times get tough.
Gifts left to Age UK Camden are absolutely vital to our work. They enable us to run our essential services for older people - including our advice line and Telephone Friendship Services.
Why leave a legacy to Age UK Camden?
We are a local independent charity, established in 1965, who have been supporting older people in Camden for more than 50 years. We have grown to become one of the largest Age UK charities in London, helping over 15,000 older people each year through a range of services.
There are currently over 30,000 people over 65 years living in Camden. Our role is to help those over 55 stay active, connected, independent and to empower them in later life. For some people later life can be very difficult, but with your support we aim to be there for every older person in Camden who needs us most.
How to leave a gift in your will
If you already have a will and you want to include a gift to Age UK Camden, you can simply ask a qualified professional such as a solicitor to add an amendment (called a codicil). If the change is more significant or complex you should make a new will. It’s important that you speak to a qualified professional such as a solicitor, when making or amending your will. As a local, independent charity we raise our own funds and rely on the financial support of individuals, trusts, businesses and others to continue our vital work.

What kind of gift can I leave to Age UK Camden?
There are 3 types of gifts you can leave:
- Residuary - a share of your estate after family and friends have been taken care of and taxes and debts have been paid
- Pecuniary - a fixed sum of money
- Specific - an item, eg a painting, or stocks and shares, or a gift of property
