Household Support Fund

Published on 16 February 2022 01:10 PM

Rising energy costs and energy bills have left many people struggling this winter. To help support households most in need the Government has launched a ‘Household Support Fund’ to help vulnerable people pay for food, clothing and other household bills.  Cheshire West and Chester Council have allocated Age UK Cheshire a support package, from the Household Support Fund, to support vulnerable adults aged 50+ residents in the local area. Funding will primarily be used to support households in the most need with food, energy, and water bills. It can also be used to support households with other essential costs.

“It is important that the right people end up receiving this money so that they can pay their essential bills this winter.” Councillor Louise Gittins.

Eligible spend includes:

  • Food - to provide support with food whether in kind, through vouchers or cash.
  • Energy and water - support with energy bills and water bills
  • Essentials linked to energy and water - support with essentials linked to energy and water.
  • Wider essentials - support with wider essential needs not linked to energy.

The Household Support Fund is now open for referrals. Please email HouseholdSupportFund@ageukcheshire.org.uk for further information.
