Due to increased demand for Day Services in Cornwall, St Austell Day Centre has opened its doors on Tuesday, the first session on the 11th September was a huge success, Mandine, Day Service Manager, explained "the staff & volunteers got to meet a number of new smiling faces this Tuesday, all enjoyed our activities and wonderfully prepared 3-course lunch. The turnout was fantastic and we hope to grow the number of people we support each week."
The social club (for the over 50’s) also meet on Wednesdays and Thursdays weekly, at St Johns Church on Bodmin Road. St Austell Day Service activities include trips and outings, knit and natter, information and advice, arts and crafts, games and much more.
Mandine, continued “We have had so many new enquiries from people wishing to attend and also from Adult Social Care. We provide transport, home-made locally sourced cooked lunches, personal care, and support for those who need it. Loved ones and the individuals who we support have all been pleased to find a social group that is warm, welcoming and run by passionate volunteers and staff. The word has spread and we are so pleased to be able to offer an extra day in the week!”
