  • Chi Kung
  • Memory Cafes

Our Current Roles

Art Group Volunteers

We need Volunteers to help support the Art Therapist overseeing various craft projects. It is preferable if the volunteer has had previous art experience. The volunteer will work with/alongside the Day Centre team and its staff. You will assist in making/serving tea & coffee as required and setting up and breaking down the equipment.

Activity Planners

We are searching for Volunteers to help & assist with our regular activities. The successful Volunteer will work alongside our Day Centre team and help plan for future sessions & new ideas, you will also be working with our clients to tailor our activities to their needs.

I.T & Biscuits Volunteer

Volunteers will join us and meet others who want to learn basic digital skills to help with all the services that are accessed online.
Volunteers will guide individuals through at their own pace, providing them with one to one sessions as needed. You will find using a computer a lot easier than you think and discover a new world at your fingertips.

Memory Cafe Volunteers

We are looking for willing volunteers to assist with running our Memory Café at Newquay Day Centre. Volunteers will need a patient & understanding approach and be able to learn new techniques. Memory Cafés are where people with memory loss and their family or carers can socialise, take part in meaningful activities, and enjoy refreshments in a safe environment.

Walking Group Volunteers

We need supportive Volunteers to assist with coordinating & planning our Walking group. Volunteers will be responsible for a number of clients and planning routes, they will also need the ability to risk assess & communicate with participants. This is a perfect role for someone who is outgoing and wants to support healthy & active lifestyles in the community. An interest in fauna & understanding of Newquay is desirable but not essential.

Training: You will receive an Induction within the Day Centre. Ongoing training can be provided and discussed with Day Services Manager, Donna Smokvina.

Location: Newquay Day Services, Crantock Street, Newquay, TR7 1JR
