Age UK campaign about the things that matter to us all as we get older.
Sometimes the problems we face in later life can’t be tackled on our own. That’s why Age UK campaigns to bring change on issues like fuel poverty, preventing falls, care services and better neighbourhoods for us all.
Each winter, one older person dies every seven minutes from the cold weather.
Many of these deaths could be prevented if everyone lived in a warm home.
That’s why Age UK is calling on the Government to make millions of homes much more energy efficient.

More money in your pocket
The Government recently announced that up to £3.7 billion of Pension Credit, Housing and Council Tax Benefit is being left unclaimed each year. Last year, Age UK put £120 million back into the pockets of 500,000 older people.
The Information and Advice Team at Age UK Coventry are able to explain what each benefit is and calculate what you may be entitled to. This could be a combination of benefits and even a backdated payment.
Some of us in later life have doubled our income simply by claiming what we’re owed. And remember benefits are revised every financial year, so if you haven’t been able to claim money in the past you may be able to claim it now and put more money in your pocket!
