Although COVID-19 continues to have a huge impact on our lives, we are pleased to advise you that some expansion of our services has been possible. The full range of Home Support Services are again available to new and existing clients, Counselling now extends across both Coventry and Warwickshire and some of our shops have reopened.
This is not to suggest a full return to "business as usual". Safety of clients, staff and volunteers remains a priority, affecting ways of working and, unfortunately, meaning all group gatherings are still suspended.
Current services are as follows together with their contact details where appropriate:
Information and Advice is available by telephone including guidance on Coronavirus, local services and support, benefits and entitlements, accessing social care etc. from 10am to 3pm on weekdays. (Tel 02476 231999; email email@example.com).
Overcoming loneliness is a major issue at this time and our Befriending Service continues to provide regular phone contact to over 70s living in isolation. (Tel 01926 458113; email firstname.lastname@example.org).
Home Support Service offer a wide range of domestic support including shopping, meal preparation, housework, laundry, ironing, lawn mowing and weeding etc. (Warwickshire callers: Tel 01788 552548; email email@example.com and for Coventry callers: Tel 02476 258228; email firstname.lastname@example.org)
Carers Short Breaks Is a "sitting service" provided by the Home Support teams enabling carers to take a short break (contacts as above).
Dementia Wellbeing Service provides regular telephone contact to clients with a dementia diagnosis, and their carers. Referrals to this service either by Warwickshire County Council or privately funded. (Tel 02476 258228; email email@example.com).
Money Management Service - Through Appointeeship and Deputyship, this service supports the management of personal finances to those people lacking the capacity to do so. (Referrals to this service are direct through Adult Social Care).
Social Prescribing Services continue to work with GP practices in Coventry to assist their patients identify and access support and services, normally by phone. (referrals to this service are direct through GP surgeries and multi-disciplinary teams, such as district nurses, only).
Hospital Social Prescribers are working with Warwickshire hospitals providing a telephone service to advise and assist in-patients organise the support they require after discharge. (Referrals to this service are direct through Adult Social Care and Warwickshire Hospitals only).
