The service offers support to carers when a short break is needed. Typically, this could be to attend to personal matters, appointments, to recharge batteries and meet friends.
It's recognised that many people do not think of themselves as "carers", especially partners, wives, husbands and family. However, a carer is generally considered to be someone who looks after a partner, relative or friend who is ill or has a disability.
