No one should have no one - that's why we are here.

The Befriending Service helps and supports over 70s to live independently by providing regular contact to help them to reduce any loneliness and social isolation.

That's why our befrienders are so important. A regular visit from a volunteer really can make a big difference to older people's lives.

A home visit is provided on a weekly or fortnightly basis by a Befriending Volunteer. All our volunteers and staff are DBS checked. Our Befrienders are not professional advisers or care workers and so they will not be able to give specific advice or undertake personal care tasks.

There is no cost for this service however we do request a donation.

This scheme is much in demand so we do need to give priority to those people who do not have other regular visitors.

  • Age 70 and over
  • Living in Warwickshire
  • Housebound
  • Have no family living locally
  • Do not receive regular visits from family/friends

We are unable to accept referrals for Befriending where there is a diagnosis of Dementia. Age UK Coventry & Warwickshire provide tailored services for people diagnosed with Dementia

Please see Our Services section on our website or click here

In addition there are also a number of services across Warwickshire (charges may apply).
