Dementia Carers Service

A diagnosis of dementia can be overwhelming. It's therefore important to know what support is available.

This service is available to anyone caring for someone with dementia, this includes partners, family members and friends whether you live with the person you care for or not.

The Service aims to:

  • Link carers with relevant services provided by Age UK Coventry & Warwickshire and other organisations and provide help with benefits entitlements
  • Help carers navigate the health and social care system, including residential care.
  • Provide ongoing support.

Enquiries and referrals are welcomed from anyone affected by dementia living in Warwick District (including Leamington and Kenilworth) and Stratford on Avon District and where appropriate their GP's, social care teams or Care Home Managers.

Rugby Forget Me Not Friends

Rugby Forget-me-not Friends is a befriending service provided jointly by Age UK Coventry and Warwickshire, and Rugby Dementia Support. Our volunteers provide a weekly companionship visit to lonely or isolated couples who are living with a diagnosis of dementia, and who aren’t able to access groups or activities outside of their home. The service is available in Rugby Borough only and is free, although we do encourage donations.

We also offer a resource directory that contains information about local dementia groups, activities, and practical assistance. This is provided without charge, on request.

For further information: email RFF@ageukcovwarks.org.uk, or call 01788 552 540.
