Age Cymru and Edwards Coaches team up

Published on 28 June 2012 10:00 AM

Age Cymru and a leading Welsh coach operator have set up a charity partnership.

Pontypridd-based Edwards Coaches has named us as its charity of the year.

We will be working together for the next 12 months on projects to benefit older people across the country.

Jason Edwards, Commercial Director of Edwards Coaches says:

"As a Welsh company we always look to support the people of Wales where we can, and feel this partnership will help us give our local people that little bit extra back.

"Due to the nature of our business we have a strong relationship with the older generation and are looking forward to building a strong partnership with Age Cymru."

Richard Nicholls, our Director of Income Resources says:

"It's a real privilege to be named charity of the year by the multi-award winning Edwards Coaches.

"Edwards Coaches is a family-run company with a proud tradition of serving the people of South Wales since 1925 and giving its customers the highest levels of service.

"While Age Cymru, by comparison, is a relatively new company formed by the merger of Age Concern Cymru and Help the Aged in Wales in 2009, we bring a combined 130 years knowledge and expertise of working with older people to the table.

"Age Cymru is extremely excited to be working with Edwards Coaches and we're looking forward to developing a series of projects and programmes that will benefit older people across Wales over the next 12 months."
