Age Cymru at the 8th World Congress on Active Ageing

Published on 16 August 2012 02:30 PM

Age Cymru's Physical Activities Officer, Glenn Little, and our Health Initiatives Officer, Joanne Bass, are representing the charity at an international event in Glasgow.

They are taking part in the 8th World Congress on Active Ageing, which is a celebration of the diversity of ageing.

Says Glenn:

"It's a privilege to represent Age Cymru at such a prestigious event and be here with our sister charities Age Scotland and Age UK.

"We've been speaking to delegates about the physical activity work we do at Age Cymru, including the Age Cymru Nordic Walking Programme and our low impact functional training (LIFT) programme.

"There's been a lot of interest and enthusiasm from conference-goers about what we've had to say, and we're hoping that this event will help to cement Age Cymru's reputation internationally as an innovator in physical activity programmes for older people."

The 8th World Congress on Active Ageing is taking place between 13 and 17 August at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre.
