Age Cymru at the Royal Welsh Show

Published on 19 July 2012 08:30 AM

Age Cymru is inviting the public to take a break and have a free cuppa at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show in Llanelwedd next week.

Visitors to our stand between 23 and 26 July can also have free information and advice on a range of issues including a handy guide about how the State Pension Age is changing for some.

We will also be promoting 2012 European Year of Active Ageing and Solidarity Between Generations during the Royal Welsh Show.

Our Head of Marketing and Communications Meryl Randell-Jones says:

"Please come along and meet us if you are at the Royal Welsh next week.

"As well as your free cuppa, you can also speak to our Information & Advice experts, pick up a copy of our‘More Money in your Pocket' guide, and buy some Age Cymru raffle tickets and Christmas cards.

"We'll also have our Age Cymru Enterprises team on hand on the stand; you will be able to learn more about our Rule Out Abuse campaign, try your hand at surfing the internet, and don't forget that it's the European Year of Active Ageing so you can also join in our Nordic Walking taster sessions in the Sports Village."

Age Cymru will be on stand A40, opposite the Flower Tent and also in the Sports Village providing free Nordic Walking taster sessions for those who fancy trying their hand at one of Europe's most popular forms of physical activity.

Visitors to the stand can learn about the internet and using it for activities such as shopping online and find out about their hobbies; how to create their own email address and sign up to fortnightly email newsletters from Age Cymru.

Meryl Randell-Jones concludes:

"Come rain or shine, it's going to be a busy and fun-filled week for Age Cymru.

"We've got many different activities available on our stand and a range of information and advisors on hand to talk to you about just anything you can imagine.

"So make sure you pop in and see us if you're in Llanelwedd next week - the kettle will be on and there'll be a warm welcome from Age Cymru's friendly staff."
