‘Enjoy our free taster sessions', says Charity

Royal Welsh Agricultural Show-goers can pop over to Age Cymru's Nordic Walking stand for a free taster session next week (w/c 21 July).

Wales's leading charity for over 50s will be in the Sports Arena providing sessions at 10:50 and 13:50 every day.

Nordic Walking provides a number of benefits above that of normal walking.

Exercising 90% of your muscles, Nordic Walking is one of Europe's fastest growing forms of physical activity, and is a great way to stay healthy.

Age Cymru's Physical Activity Development Officer, Glenn Little said:

"Please come along and meet us if you are at the Royal Welsh.

"We're delighted to be back again this year offering visitors taster sessions in Nordic Walking.

"Nordic Walking is less tiring than walking, increasing your heart rate by up to 13% meaning that you receive greater benefit through less effort.

"By using lightweight poles for additional support, you can get more from the exercise.

"You can also find out more about Age Cymru's products and services at the stand and learn more about volunteering opportunities at the Charity."

Free Nordic Walking taster sessions will be held every day at 10:50 and 13:50 in the Sports Arena.

Age Cymru's Nordic Walking stand will be situated at the end of Avenue A in the Sports Arena.
