Cardiff 5k Fun Run

Published on 04 March 2011 12:00 PM

Age Cymru is asking members of the public to take part in a sponsored fun run in Cardiff on Sunday 22 May.

The charity wants runners to take part in the Cardiff 5k Fun Run and help raise money to fund its work in supporting older people.

Michael Phillips from Age Cymru says:

"Age Cymru provides services that help older people in Wales every day - from our free telephone advice line, our range of information and advice services , through to our project to combat elder abuse and our healthy ageing initiatives.

"We need the public's support to help us continue with this vital work. We're looking for runners of all abilities, who are aged 12 or over to take part in this fun run.

"You can enter as a family, or take part with your workmates or friends from school and Age Cymru will give you all the support you need with your fundraising.

"This is a great opportunity to have fun, get some exercise and blow away those cobwebs while raising funds for charity."

Michael Phillips concludes:

"Please pick up the phone today and contact Age Cymru on 029 2043 1536 or send an email to fundraising@agecymru.org.uk to discuss your place in the Cardiff 5k Fun Run - we're looking forward to hearing from you".

The Cardiff 5k Fun Run is organised by the Llanishen Rotary Club. It takes place in Bute Park on Sunday 22 May 2011.
