Good luck Rachael and Hayley

Good luck and all our best wishes to Rachael and Hayley Williams.

These two Welsh sisters who moved to California when they were 2 and 4 years old, have started an 870 mile sponsored walk for Age Cymru today in memory of their late grandmother.

Now aged 29 and 27, they are going to be walking the Wales Coast Path for 90 days during which they will also be reconnecting with their Welsh heritage.

"Our paternal grandmother Jean Williams lived in Llandaff in Cardiff", says Rachael.

"We affectionately called her ‘Little Nanny' because she was quite short, and she had been a widow since 1994 when our grandfather David Williams passed away.

"So when we came over for her funeral in 2008, we felt our connection with Wales was starting to slip away.

"We decided we wanted to do something to re-connect with Wales and so we came up with the idea of walking the 870 mile Wales Coast Path" adds Hayley.

"It took two years to plan the trip and I can't believe it's finally here - it's all very exciting".
