Grand Slam squad members signed rugby ball auction

Published on 19 March 2012 05:30 PM

Age Cymru is auctioning a rugby ball signed by members of the 2012 Six Nations Grand Slam-winning Wales squad.

The ball has been signed by Saturday's man-of-the-match Dan Lydiate, try-scorer Alex Cuthbert, and team members captain Sam Warburton, Jamie Roberts, Rhys Priestland, Toby Faletau and Ian Evans.

Wales's legendary winger Shane Williams has also signed the ball.

Age Cymru's Head of Marketing and Communications Meryl Randell-Jones says:

"Why not celebrate our boys's stunning victory against France on Saturday by bidding on our autographed rugby ball?

"It's a piece of history, signed by members of the victorious 2012 Six Nations Grand Slam team, including Dan Lydiate, Alex Cuthbert and Sam Warburton - and it could be yours.

"And don't forget that all the cash that's raised through this auction goes to charity, so get online, visit eBay, search out Age Cymru and get bidding."

The signatures on the Age Cymru Wales 2012 rugby ball were collected from Shane Williams's last game for Wales against Australia and the ball comes with a Welsh Rugby Union certificate of authenticity.

All proceeds from the sale of the ball will go to Age Cymru.

The online auction starts on eBay at 17.08 hrs tonight (20 March) and ends at 18.08 hrs on Monday 26 March.
