Ian Thomas at Cardiff Sports Expo

Is running in later life the key to staying active? That'll be the subject of talks by keen runner and Age Cymru chief executive, Ian Thomas, at the Cardiff Sports Expo this Thursday.

Ian will be speaking at the event in the Motorpoint Arena about how running has impacted on him and sharing stories about how older people have been role models to him in helping achieve his personal goals.

"I love running and it's a big part of my life and has been for years", says Ian, who is 53 and he adds:

"I run every opportunity I get and I'm always out running on the weekends, when I'm on holiday and I have been known to run to work and back. Running has helped me get physically fit and it's also a fantastic way to wind down and switch off after a hard day at the office. I'm hoping that by sharing my experiences at the Cardiff Sports Expo, I can inspire other over 50s to have a go at running."

Ian Thomas is appearing at the Cardiff Sports Expo at 11.20am and 4.20pm on Thursday 24 March.

Also on the bill at the Cardiff Sports Expo which runs over the Easter bank holiday weekend, are Mo Farrah and Paula Radcliffe.
