My Home Life Cymru in Australia

Published on 23 April 2013 10:30 AM

Our colleague John Moore is being flown out to Australia next month to speak about his work.

He heads up our My Home Life Cymru programme which looks at ways of improving quality of life in care homes for older people.

John will be speaking appearing at the 2013 ACS (Australian & Community Services Association of NSW and ACT Incorporated) State Conference in Sydney on 8 May.

Speaking ahead of his trip Down Under John says:

"This is a tremendously exciting honour.

"I never imagined when we launched My Home Life Cymru in 2009 that I'd end up being invited to speak about it at a conference in Australia.

"It will be an opportunity to talk about the work we do and the My Home Life approach, as well as meeting and sharing the experiences of people who are involved in the care sector in Australasia.

"I'm also looking forward to learning firsthand about life in residential care homes Down Under as I'll be visiting three homes in Sydney during my stay."

The 2013 ACS State Conference is taking place on 7 and 8 May at the Grand Pavilion, Rosehill Gardens in Sydney.
