Published on 19 September 2014 09:30 AM

Welcome to Rosanne Palmer - our new Policy Advisor.

Rosanne is responsible for Age Cymru's health and social care policy.

One of her key aims is to work closely with the Welsh Government during the implementation of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act.

Rosanne has worked as Research and Policy Officer for ASH Wales and lectured in the Politics Department at Cardiff University with the Wales Governance Centre.

Says Rosanne:

"I am really excited to join the Policy and Public Affairs Team as Policy Advisor.

"This role will give me the opportunity to represent the interests of older people across Wales when responding to Welsh Government consultations and policy developments.

"Significant decisions need to be made in creating an integrated health and social care system that is sustainable going forward for older people.

"I'm looking forward to engaging in conversations and debates that affect older people and how I can influence these areas to ensure that they are listened to and protected.

Commenting on Rosanne's appointment, Graeme Francis, our Head of Policy and Public Affairs says:

"We are delighted to welcome Rosanne to Age Cymru's Policy and Public Affairs Team.

"Rosanne brings a range of knowledge and experience to the team - from her background in health research to her extensive knowledge of Welsh politics.

"The whole team is looking forward to working with Rosanne and achieving improvements to the health and care services that older people in Wales receive."
