The Choirgirl Isabel

The Choirgirl Isabel and Age UK and Age Cymru announce their partnership to release charity Christmas single "You Are Not Alone".

Decca Records is delighted to announce its partnership with Age UK and Age Cymru as The Choirgirl Isabel backs the charities to support older people this winter.

Isabel Suckling, a protégé of Wales's very own Aled Jones, recently became the first Choirgirl to sign a record deal.

Some of the proceeds from her forthcoming single 'You Are Not Alone' will go towards helping Age UK and Age Cymru with their important work.

Isabel is supporting Age Cymru's ‘Keep Well This Winter' campaign which provides advice to people in later life in Wales on keeping warm, safe and well in winter.

The appropriately-named 'You Are Not Alone' was a No.1 for Michael Jackson in 1995.

Now it will be vying for the top-spot again as a Christmas single when it is released on 13 December.

12-year-old Isabel, from York Minster, feels strongly that people in later life should not be forgotten about, especially now that the winter months are upon us.

She believes it is important that we do all we can to provide help in some way.

The Choirgirl's offering is her voice, which is indeed something special, having been chosen from the hundreds auditioned from cathedrals and churches all over the UK.

With her impending chart success Isabel feels that she is in a position to help spread this message:

"Not everyone has grandchildren to visit them, or even a local choir to listen to, so by singing, and giving money from my single to charity, I hope this will be some help to those who need it at this time of year".

The Choirgirl Isabel will also be spending her school half term singing for older people she's been put in touch with by Age UK and Age Cymru.

Cardiff will be receiving a visit and given the chance to enjoy Isabel's pure-toned perfection, as she supports older people in Wales to ‘Keep Well This Winter' at the Salvation Army Centre in Grangetown on 28 October.

Age Cymru's Chief Executive, Robert Taylor said:

"We are delighted that Isabel is supporting our Keep Well This Winter campaign.

"Too many older people are suffering and dying needlessly in winter, and only with the help of supporters like Isabel can we continue to make a real difference to them."

You Are Not Alone is taken from the debut album The Choirgirl Isabel, Out on 29 November on Decca Records.
