Matthew Rhys voices Age Cymru film

Published on 22 April 2014 01:00 PM

Matthew Rhys has signed up to support Age Cymru by voicing over a brand new film for us.

Cardiff-born Hollywood actor Matthew is well respected in the acting world, best known for the US TV series ‘Brothers and Sisters' and ‘The Americans' currently being shown on ITV.

Matthew Rhys says;

"People in Wales are living longer which is something to be celebrated, but of course it brings challenges.

"That's why the work Age Cymru and its local partners does is vital.

"I was amazed to learn how much they do to support older people across Wales.

"They bring comfort and friendship to those who are lonely and isolated not only in rural areas but also within our busy cities and towns.

"They run programmes to help older people stay healthy, provide peace of mind and security through services such as HandyVan, have a comprehensive information and advice service on a myriad of subjects and they have an arts festival especially for the over 50s too.

"I'm proud to support a national Welsh charity like Age Cymru and its local partners and that's why I was so happy to help them out with this film."

Our Director of Income Generation Richard Nicholls says;

"We would like to say a huge thank you to Matthew Rhys for taking time out of his busy schedule to be the voice on our new charity film.

"The film promotes the support and guidance available to older people through our local partners, shops, national projects and advice line.

"We hope that people will see our film and understand that there are many different ways to get involved with Age Cymru and lots of services that we provide."
