Winter Wrapped Up with Age Cymru

Published on 19 December 2011 11:00 AM

Roy Noble has launched Age Cymru's ‘Winter Wrapped Up' guide as part of our Spread the Warmth campaign.

The guide is full of useful information to help over 60s keep well and stay warm over the winter months.

Roy Noble says:

"Winter is not everyone's favourite season and there's no doubt that the cold weather can be a worry for some older people.

"But if we‘re prepared, we can help ourselves to stay healthy, safe and comfortable over the winter months.

" ‘Winter Wrapped Up' is Age Cymru's handy guide for older people and it is full of useful suggestions and top tips for keeping warm during the cold and threatening season.

"So get yourself a copy today and help to make sure that you stay safe when the temperature drops and the winter winds blow keenly around the house."

‘Winter Wrapped Up' contains information on preparing for winter, staying healthy, keeping warm indoors and out and making your home energy efficient.

The bilingual guide contains a section on eating well, the importance of the seasonal flu jab, protecting yourself from chilblains and a list of organisations you can contact for further information.

Victoria Lloyd, Age Cymru's Director of Influencing and Programme Development says:

"We're very grateful to Roy Noble for supporting Age Cymru's Spread the Warmth campaign and helping to highlight the help that is available in the ‘Winter Wrapped Up' guide.

"This handy guide is just one of the many ways that Age Cymru is helping to ‘Spread the Warmth' this winter, including free thermometers and winter checklists for over 60s across Wales."

‘Winter Wrapped Up' is available from Age Cymru, Age Cymru local partners, Age Cymru shops and Age Cymru Enterprises Limited trading outlets.

It is also available for free from Age UK Advice on 0800 169 65 65 by quoting ‘Information Guide L44W'.
