Chance for older people to shape charity’s priorities

Published on 23 July 2018 02:08 PM

Older people in Bangor, Newport, Swansea and Wrexham are being invited to give their views on loneliness and isolation, health and social care, and transport provision.

Open meetings are being held this month to help Age Cymru and Age Alliance Wales gain a better insight into how older people view these three crucial areas of ageing.  The meetings will also provide an opportunity for older people to help shape campaigning priorities.

Age Alliance Wales Officer Chris Williams explains: “We know that loneliness and isolation, health and social care, as well as transport provision are the three areas that concern older people the most.  So we would like to gain a better understanding of how these issues affect older people’s lives and how they would like us to campaign in order to bring about improvements.

The meetings take place at:

The Phoenix Centre in Swansea on 16 April between 10.30am and 1.30pm.

Acton Community Resource Centre in Wrexham on 9 April between 10.30am and 1.30pm

Penrhyn Hall in Bangor on 10 April between 10.30am and 1.30pm

Ringland Community Centre on 26 April between 10.30am and 1.30pm.
