Dear editor

National charities launch survey for older people looking after loved ones

Age Cymru and Carers Trust Wales have launched a Wales-wide survey to gain a better understanding of the needs of people over 50 who provide unpaid support to family or friends but aren’t accessing any services, information or advice.

The survey will provide vital information to a project, funded by the Welsh Government and being delivered by the two charities, that will specifically provide support for older people looking after loved ones.

We believe that a large number of your readers could be part of this group of people who, without effective support, could become exhausted and ill themselves.

The survey is open to any of your readers aged 50 or over who live in Wales and provide unpaid support to family or friends without accessing any services, information or advice.

To take part, readers should visit agecymru.org.uk/carerssurvey or call 029 2043 1555 for a bi-lingual paper copy of the survey and a prepaid return envelope.

Your readers may also talk to us directly about their experiences and seek information to support them in their role.

Yours faithfully

Luke Conlon (Carers Project Officer)
