Age UK East Sussex's Community Response Team
In response to the increased needs of older people in East Sussex due to the Coronavirus crisis, Age UK East Sussex volunteers and partners have created a Community Response Team. Working with local schemes and filling gaps where needed we support older people with our service. As we come out of the pandemic together our aim is to help older people to get back into their local communities with friendly volunteer companions supporting escorted walks, shopping trips together and more activites as guidlines allow.
Fancy a chat now?
These are very lonely times especially in isolation, so if you fancy a chat with one of our friendly volunteers please call 01273 476 704. One of our team will match you with a volunteer who will call you once a week for a good chat.
All of our volunteers are recruited through the charity and are all cleared through the Disclosure and Barring Service DBS (formally the Criminal Records Bureau CRB); therefore, your name and phone number will be provided to them (no other personal details including your address) the volunteer befriender will call from a withheld number at a mutually agreed day and time. We will of course tell you in advance who will be calling you.
