Age UK East Sussex's Community Emergency Support Team

In response to the increased needs of older people in East Sussex due to the Coronavirus crisis, Age UK East Sussex have launched our Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) service. The CERT service is offering an 'emergency essentials' shopping service, pharmacy prescription deliveries and telephone befriending to vulnerable older people in East Sussex during this time.

Fancy a chat?

These are very lonely times especially in isolation, so if you fancy a chat with one of our friendly volunteers please call 01273 476 704. One of our team will match you with a volunteer who will call you once a week for a good chat. In order to protect your privacy and that of the volunteer, all calls are directed from our main switchboard and no personal details are shared.

Need help getting emergency essentials delivered?

We are offering an emergency essentials shopping service for older people struggling to get shopping safely. Call us on 01273 476704 to give us your essentials shopping list and receive a delivery date. Payments for your shopping are taken over the phone by credit/debit card (no cash payments can be handled). You will receive a call on the day of your delivery to confirm. The driver will deliver to your doorstep and then stand at least 2 metres away whilst waiting for you to come to the door and collect your shopping.

Do you need your medication delivered?

In the same way as our shopping service, you can call us with your pharmacy details and information on when we can collect your medical prescription. One of our volunteer drivers will collect your prescription and deliver it to your doorstep safely.
