Rasheed has practiced as a social worker for many years, most recently as the borough manager for Victim Support Enfield, which provides services for victims of crime. This has given him the opportunity to engage with statutory bodies as well as the voluntary sector.
Representing Enfield Community Empowerment Network (ECEN) and BME, Rasheed participated in ESP Enfield Strategic Partnership and Safer and Stronger Communities Board meetings, and put across the voluntary sector views on these boards.
Rasheed is the chair of the Independent Advisory Group (IAG) to police in Enfield and the second vice chair for Enfield Racial Equality Council (EREC).
Rasheed has studied engineering and MBA (master of business administration).
Rasheed was elected to his first three-year term as a trustee of Age UK Enfield at the 2011 AGM, to serve until the 2014 AGM. He was elected to his second three-year term at the 2014 AGM, to serve until the 2017 AGM, and was elected to his third three-year term at the 2017 AGM, to serve until the 2020 AGM. He served as chair from November 2016 to December 2017, and as vice chair for the previous year.
